SouthTech’s Commercial Arts Academy
provides students with an opportunity
to train for careers in the commercial arts and graphic design
industries. Upon graduating, students are career and/or
college-ready.
Curriculum
As part of a four-year program, instructors train each student in
graphic production skills, design layout, typography, fine art and
industry-standard software programs. Students are educated to
industry standards in graphic software skills, illustration, and
in mixed media. SouthTech Academy offers a state-of-the-art
learning environment with a design lab for both the beginner
and advanced student. Creativity is essential in this award-
winning program. Instruction is combined with core academics,
preparing each student for industry employment, as well as
post-secondary education.
Earning Power
A graduate of this academy can expect to earn a competitive wage
with unlimited growth potential. Graduates work successfully
in the advertising, marketing, publishing, animation, web and
