Veterinary Assisting

SouthTech’s Veterinary Assisting
Academy educates its students in the
knowledge and skills necessary for a productive career in the
animal care industry. Upon graduating, students are career and
college-ready.

Curriculum

Through academic instruction and hands-on learning, students
explore the role of animals in society, anatomy and physiology,
behavior, animal hospital procedures, lab work and other
valuable topics. Graduates are well-prepared for careers, as
well as post-secondary study.

Earning Power

A graduate of this academy is prepared for employment in the
animal industry with veterinarians, in addition to a variety
of other career options. Graduates may also continue their
education toward a Veterinary Technician degree or, ultimately,
a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
