SouthTech’s Cosmetology Academy provides students with real-world knowledge and practical experience in a salon lab environment. Upon graduation, students are career and/or college-ready and have the opportunity to sit for either a state Cosmetology license or a Specialty Nails or Facials license.
Curriculum
Instructors train each student to industry standards and provide certification through multidimensional training in the classroom and the salon laboratory. Students learn procedures, applications, and techniques for all textures of hair, skin and nails. As part of the progression in the academy, students will service peers, family, and clients from the community. Students also help organize and perform in a show-stopping hair and fashion show every spring. After completion of the program, students will be prepared for a variety of rewarding careers and post-secondary study.

A graduate of this academy can expect to earn a competitive
wage with unlimited growth potential. By completing all required
hours and services, students obtain the knowledge and the skills
needed to be successful in the industry and college.
